Repeating last year's event, the Audio Engineering Society (AES) has put together a fantastic conference program that runs in parallel with the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. Townsend Labs has been invited to host two workshops at the 2020 AES Academy. This presentation by Townsend Labs product expert Julian David is all about microphone modeling applications in audio education.

Presentation details

Microphone modeling systems are now available that offer the ability to change microphone type, polar pattern and other parameters even after recording which offers audio students greater ability to experiment and learn. And at a fraction of the cost, schools can provide access to a full range of industry-standard microphone types with even more hands-on time. This workshop takes a look at how the Townsend Labs Sphere L22 mic modeling system, in particular, can provide valuable benefits to recording education programs.

What’s really cool is that in Course Two of our program, our students can utilize the Sphere software in their own time on their laptops and better familiarize themselves with all of its capabilities and parameters. The included software is remarkable and the students are really enjoying working with it. - Jake Bennett, Academy for Media Production (AMP)

When: Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Where: Anaheim Hilton, Level 4, B4
