The AES NYC 2019 Wrap-Up

Townsend Labs AES NYC 2019 wrap-up header preview 1200x628

We had a blast at this year's AES Convention in New York. All of us had been to previous AES shows in past years, but this was the first time we had our own booth with Townsend Labs. Here's our AES 2019 wrap-up post with all the little stories, videos, and a few photos.

We truly appreciate all of you who took the time to stop by the booth and ask questions or try the Sphere L22 first hand. The beautiful thing about a trade show is the immediate, personal response and feedback from both Sphere owners and those to be. It was also wonderful to experience how Sphere is quickly becoming known as the top microphone modeling solution worldwide. It was an honor having renowned engineers, producers, and musicians, such as Joe Hollow ( FOH Post Malone), Richard Hilton (Nile Rodgers), Omar Hakim, Rick St. Hilaire (Busta Rhymes, Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys), and many more at our booth.

Townsend Labs and Avid

Being part of the Avid Partner Pavilion turned out to be a real pleasure. Our friends at Avid not only provided us with an Omni-HDX package to show off the Sphere AAX DSP plug-in, but they also showcased the Sphere L22 at their own booth right across the aisle.

Press Coverage

As you may know, we had quite a summer this year as we rolled out both the 1.3 and 1.4 updates. Sphere 1.3, of course, introduced AAX DSP support of Pro Tools HDX systems, while the 1.4 update added a whopping ten new mic models to the included collection. So there were plenty of reasons to talk to some of our favorite pro audio magazines and blogs. Big thanks to Gearslutz, Sound on Sound, and Mixdown Online for taking the time to tape these interviews.

We also had a blast hanging out with our friends at TapeOp, who recently reviewed the Sphere L22 in their magazine. Finally, a big shout-out to the cool dudes at Audio Test Kitchen.
